In 2026, I’ll be running in Run for the Kids to raise funds for the Good Friday Appeal — a cause that now means so much to our family.

When my daughter Imogen was just 18 days old, she became suddenly unwell. After seeking care locally, she was flown to the Royal Children’s Hospital by the amazing PIPER team, where we learned she had a congenital heart condition.

Instead of spending Imogen's first Christmas at home, we spent it in hospital, surrounded by the incredible staff on the Koala Ward and the cardiology team who cared for her with such compassion, skill and dedication. Since then, we’ve made multiple trips back to the Royal Children’s Hospital for check-ups and continue to remain under their care.

Thanks to the expertise and support of the RCH teams, Imogen is now doing amazingly well. She continues to be monitored closely. 

The Good Friday Appeal plays a vital role in funding the Royal Children’s Hospital — supporting the life-saving equipment, research, and world-class care that families like ours rely on in their most frightening moments.

I’m running not just for the finish line, but for Imogen — and for every child and family who may need the Royal Children’s Hospital in the future.
