Sub School Updates

Welcome to Term 1, 2026!
Welcome to Week 9!
Our students did an excellent job transitioning and participating in Harmony Day on Friday. It was wonderful to see many classrooms using social stories to prepare their students. These supports helped students understand what would happen, what was expected of them, and provided the predictability they need to participate successfully. Thank you for your support in keeping our students safe and engaged.
Swimming weeks (T2, W2,3 & 4)
All staff are expected to supervise students during swimming week. If you are unable to be in the water, please provide a medical certificate for medical related instances. Please speak to your Sub-School leader if the reason is not medical related.

Recurring notices
Yard duty Please ensure you always have the latest yard duty timetable visible in your classroom and that you are familiar with your duty expectations.
Active supervision
Roam – move continuously through your allocated area
Build rapport with students- engage them with games
Anticipate behaviours before they escalate- read the Playground Support Document
Phones away, please – full attention on students at all times
All students must be supervised by a staff member at all times. If a student from your class is taking a movement break and you would like another staff member who is already outside to supervise, please ensure you communicate with them directly.
ALWAYS Check with staff prior to letting a student in an area such as the playground
Seesaw
Please remember to upload photos of students completing all the wonderful activities in the class. The minimum requirement is one photo per student per week. This is important in helping families see the wonderful learning and care you provide each day. Regular updates offer reassurance and help build strong, trusting relationships between families and staff.
AAC Devices
Please ensure your classroom AAC device is charged each day. One member of the classroom staff must take the AAC device with them while on yard duty. We will provide gentle reminders to staff to retrieve it, if it is accidentally left in the classroom.
Emails
Please ensure you read your emails before students arrive and after students leave at a minimum to ensure you are up to date.
