ICAS Assessments at Our School

We are pleased to offer students the opportunity to participate in the ICAS (International Competitions and Assessments for Schools) this year. ICAS is a globally recognised assessment program that allows students to challenge themselves across a range of subject areas. ICAS is designed to go beyond the standard classroom curriculum by encouraging higher-order thinking, problem-solving and the application of knowledge in unfamiliar contexts. It provides students with the chance to extend their learning, build confidence and develop resilience as they tackle complex and engaging questions.

One of the key benefits of ICAS is the detailed feedback it provides. Each student receives a personalised report that highlights their strengths and areas for growth, giving valuable insights for both families and teachers. This information can support ongoing learning and help guide future goal-setting. Specific students will be invited to participate in ICAS. Further information about how to register, including key dates, will be shared closer to the sitting dates.  If you have questions, please feel free to contact Matt Kirkright, one of our Assistant Principals., please contact Matt Kirkright, one of our Assistant Principals

'Showcasing' STEM & 3D Printing

3D printing is quickly becoming an exciting and valuable part of learning in schools, and we are thrilled to be exploring its potential in our STEM classroom. This innovative technology allows students to design and create real, physical objects from digital models, turning imagination into something they can see and touch. Beyond academic skills, 3D printing encourages creativity, problem-solving, and resilience. Our students quickly learn that designs do not always work the first time, and that is okay.

Some of the exciting projects students explore include:

  • Designing keychains or name tags
  • Developing solutions to real-world problems through design challenges

Importantly, 3D printing also helps prepare students for the future. As technology continues to evolve, skills in digital design, innovation, and critical thinking will be increasingly valuable in many career pathways. We look forward to seeing our students continue to explore, create, and innovate as they bring their ideas to life through 3D printing!
