Student Attitudes to School Survey (Years 4–6)

Students in Years 4–6 will be invited to take part in the annual Student Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS), running from 12 May to 12 June 2026. This voluntary survey, conducted by the Department of Education and managed by ORIMA Research Pty Ltd, gathers student feedback on learning, wellbeing, relationships and school experiences.

The survey is completed online during class time, takes around 20–40 minutes, and students can skip questions or stop at any time. Responses are completely confidential, and results are reported only in groups.

All information can be found in the letter from the Department of Education in the link below:

Upcoming Semester 1 Reports - 2026

As stated in the media, the AEU Branch Executive decided to suspend the commencement of rolling regional half-day stoppages of work through to 18 May to enable the continuation of intensive negotiations with the Department of Education/Government for two weeks and increase the chance of an in-principle agreement. All other existing industrial action will remain in place, including written comments on End of Semester Reports.  The following is an overview of the impact on reports:

  • Teachers continue to assess students. The ban applies to written comments on student reports (except for numerical assessment information, satisfactory/not satisfactory information)
  • Families will be given numerical assessment data and attendance on reports.
  • The general collation and preparation of reports for families continues a ‘typical’ process.
  • Subject Overviews and Learning Outcomes (Skills) will remain included.
  • Learner Comment, Work Habits and Areas for Future Learning (AFFLs) are banned.
  • A letter to go home with reports, explaining the industrial ban and its impact on reports.

Reports will be available on the Compass portal on Wednesday, 24th June @ 4.00 pm

Education Week

At Whittlesea Primary School, we will celebrate with an out-of-uniform day on Thursday, 21 May.

Students are invited to dress as their future career, whilst staff will dress as students (yes, we are sending them 'Back to School'). Students across the school will also participate in a career-based lesson throughout the day.

This is a fun way to show that everyone is on their own learning journey, and that schools play an important role in 'Helping Students Succeed' by providing an education that enables them to actively contribute to our community and the wider society.
