Dear Parents and Friends
The weeks are passing by very quickly and this week we are already halfway through Term Two! St Carlo’s continues to be a wonderful school where our fantastic students are achieving their best through so many outstanding learning opportunities. Teachers are currently preparing Semester One reports, and assessment data shows that all students have demonstrated growth in their learning. Please take the time to read through today’s newsletter to see the fantastic learning experiences taking place across our great school.
Walk Safely to School Day
What a massive success! Thank you to our staff, students, and families who participated in this year’s Walk Safely to School Day and helped make it such an incredible event. Approximately 70% of our students took part, which was a tremendous achievement. Our student leaders did a wonderful job promoting and supporting the event. Thank you again to everyone who participated and remember, try to make walking a regular habit each day!
Sausage Sizzle
Thank you to our wonderful Parents & Friends Association for organising the sausage sizzle on Friday, with special thanks to Vicky and her team for their outstanding organisation and efforts to ensure the day ran so smoothly. Cooking and serving approximately 500 sausages is a tremendous effort - well done! We look forward to another special hot food day later this term.
Cross Country
Congratulations to all students who participated in the recent Greenvale District Cross Country Carnival at Merrifield Recreation Reserve. St Carlo’s won the event! We are extremely proud of all students who represented our school with such enthusiasm, determination, and sportsmanship. Well done!
Prep 2027 Enrolments
I have been meeting with many new eligible families seeking enrolment for Prep 2027, and it has been a genuine pleasure connecting with so many families who are enthusiastic about joining our school community. A common phrase I continue to hear is, “Everyone we know raves about what a fantastic school St Carlo’s is.” Thank you for speaking so positively about our school. It is incredibly meaningful to know that such affirming messages continue to resonate throughout the wider community.
Next week, we will begin contacting existing families who have a child commencing Prep next year to arrange a time to meet with you and your child.
School Winter Uniform Update
I met with Noone management on Friday to provide feedback regarding current stock availability. I have been assured that the majority of items are now available, and that there will be good stock levels of all items except the school jumper from June 1.
As the St Carlo jumper is manufactured specifically for our school, there has been a production delay, and not all sizes are expected to be available until June 22.
Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct school winter uniform, which can only be purchased through our supplier, Noone, with the exception of any currently unavailable items.
A reminder that students may wear either the old uniform or the new uniform, but not a combination of both. Once all items of the new uniform become available, we will begin enforcing the school uniform policy and will notify parents if students are not in the correct uniform.
School Absences
A reminder that if your child is going to be absent from school, you must submit the Absentee eForm via Audiri. If an eForm has not been submitted, your child will be marked as unexplained absent and you will receive an SMS notification.
We also ask families to avoid collecting children early from school wherever possible, as this disrupts student learning. Early pickups should only occur for emergencies or appointments that cannot be arranged outside school hours. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Unwell Students
Please keep your child at home if they are unwell. If a child becomes sick during the school day, parents will be contacted to collect them. Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us maintain a healthy school environment.
Important Dates for Term Two
Please keep an eye on the school calendar on Audiri or click here for our Google Parent calendar.
We ask St Carlo Borromeo to continue to bless our wonderful parish and school community.
I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead.
