SMDP Easter Raffle

GUITAR CLUB

On Tuesday, Jane welcomed the inaugural St Martin De Porres guitar club participants.

It is intended that some of these budding guitarists will join the SMDP band and accompany the school for special events and Masses. As you can see the group is very large so we are capping it at this number for now. 

Guitar club takes place on Tuesday afternoons. Guitars are required for tuning either on Monday or first thing Tuesday morning. Students are invited to join the BAND google classroom where practice materials will be uploaded each week.

At this stage the club will run for this term and possibly next term and then will have a break term 3 as we concentrate on our school production. 

The enthusiasm is infectious! Rock on SMDP!

Zooper Dooper/Icypoles

An initiative of the student leaders is to sell Zooper Doopers at recess each FRIDAY for 50c each, one per person only, in terms 1 and 4.

Hats

School hats must be worn at all times for outdoor learning and play from September 1st to the 30th of April and any time outside these dates when the UV index is 3 or above. 

Please ensure your child has a labelled school hat. If they do not have a hat, they will be instructed to play in the shade under the church verandah during break times. 

Sunscreen

Students should apply sunscreen before school and bring their own sunscreen in their bag. Teachers will provide time for them to re-apply prior to outdoor breaks.

School Uniform

All students are expected to wear full summer school uniforms including the correct leather school shoes. RUNNERS ARE FOR PHYSICAL EDUCATION LESSONS AND SPORT DAYS ONLY. 

When to wear sports uniform

Students participate in specialist lessons across a fortnight timetable. This involves Physical Education and Sport lessons where sports uniform is required.

Here are the days classes need to wear the school sports uniform. A reminder this is the only time students wear this uniform and sports shoes. At all other times Summer school uniform should be worn.

Before and After School Care

Students cannot be dropped off at school until 8:30am each morning. Each night they are supervised until 3:25pm this meets under the new EBA agreement. If your child needs supervision and care before 8:30am in the morning or after 3:25pm at night, Quantin Binnah provides an excellent program each day in our  school hall.
