Christmas Card Competition Winners 🎄

We are excited to congratulate this year’s five winning students whose artwork has been selected for our official school Christmas cards!

Each of the designs showcased creativity, imagination and a beautiful Christmas spirit. Choosing just five was no easy task, as we were so impressed by the effort and talent shown by all participants.

A huge well done to our incredible winners:

  • Max Pentreath - Foundation
  • Maisie Hunter - Gr 3
  • Leon De Silva - Gr 4
  • Nellie O'Brien - Gr 6
  • Audrey Dobelli - Gr 6

Their designs have been professionally printed and are available for purchase through the school and will be available to purchase at our Christmas Carols event for $10 per pack of 10 (cash only). The funds raised will assist in our distribution of care meals within our community.

Pop in to admire all of the brilliant entries, that are now displayed outside our sickbay for all to enjoy.

Thank you to every student who entered — we are so proud of your creativity and festive spirit. Care Meals

With Christmas fast approaching, this time of year can be a difficult and hard time for alot of families. We are asking those who can, to please donate some Care Meals to restock our freezer.

Medical Policy (Distribution of Medication)

St Mary’s recognises that some students have medical plans that require the distribution of medication within the school day. It is invaluable that we have qualified nurses who can support the highest degree of care and expertise in support of your child. St Mary’s is bound by the CECV policy on what must be provided by the parents, medical practitioners and pharmacists in regard to distributing medication. Please see the attached policy for further information.

A written request must be received from the parent for the administration of medication, St Mary's Medication Permission Form 2025.

This relates to all prescription and non-prescription medication (including over-the-counter medication such as paracetamol, anti-histamines or alternative medicines);

School Nurses can only administer medication directly from the original medication container.

For prescription medication, ensure the pharmacy label is attached to the original container and includes the student name, strength and description of medication, dosage and route (e.g. inhaled/orally) of administration, correct storage, timing, administration medication expiry date & pharmacist’s details.

Bus Travellers

  • Students living in Echuca Town area (VIC) need to contact Echuca-Moama Town Services on 5480 2181 for further details of times and bus stops.
  • If you are travelling on an Echuca town bus (Blue and Yellow bus), you do not need a bus pass but you must pay $1.50 each way. (It is best to have correct money)

Please note, if your child is a town bus traveller, there is a fee of $1.50 each way fee that needs to be paid by the student.

Bus travellers who arrive prior to 8:30 AM will be separately supervised in the Brigidine Centre by support staff. Children in this setting sit in rows, waiting patiently for the 8:30 AM start time of teaching staff. At 8:30 AM, learners will begin their daily routine.

At the end of the day, bus travellers will sit at allocated waiting bays, ready for the buses to arrive. Familiar staff facilitate these duties to best support the learners and the bus drivers. The highest standards of behavior are expected from our bus travellers while traveling to and from school, and St Mary’s works in collaboration with our local transport companies.

If your child is in Foundation and catching the bus for the first time, please inform your child’s classroom teacher and seek support if needed.

If you live in Victoria and are on the town bus network (blue and yellow bus) and are residing more than 4.8 km from St Mary's Primary School, you are entitled to a conveyance bus pass.  Please complete the 2 forms below and return to the office. If you reside within the 4.8 km zone, there is an each way fare that is payable by the traveller.

If you are in Victoria and live outside the township of Echuca, your child will be on a country bus and will need to fill in the below form and return to the office.

If you live in Moama, you require a bus pass please go to the below website to apply.
