Information for the Dress Rehearsal - 10th September
Time: 9:30 am -1:30 pm
Students will travel by bus at 9.30am to Emerald Performing Arts Centre (EPAC) at Emerald Secondary College. They will return to Menzies Creek Primary School in time for lunch at 1.15pm.
What to bring: Students will need to bring a bag containing their water bottle, brain food and morning snack. Students will need to wear school uniform.
Details- We will run through a whole school dress rehearsal of the production- “We Speak for the Trees” at the theatre. This is a great opportunity for all the students to become familiar with performing on the stage and using the backstage area.
It is important for all students to attend this final rehearsal before the night performance.
Please complete the permission form via Compass by Monday the 7th of September.
Costumes will be sent home with the students after the dress rehearsal.
Details for Evening Performance - 10th September
Students will need to be dropped off at Emerald Performing Arts Centre, located at Emerald Secondary College at 6.30 pm.
A family member will need to escort them into the theatre, and a staff member will sign them in and take them backstage. The students will need to come dressed in their Act One costume in readiness for the 7pm performance. It would be helpful if the students could also arrive wearing a light layer of foundation make -up on their faces. This assists in preventing a washed-out look under the stage lights.
Tickets for the performance are still available and can be purchased through the school’s QKR App.
Families are not permitted to film or take photos during the performance. However, the performance will be filmed, and families will be provided with access to view this, early next term. The staff will also take photos of the students dressed up in their costumes during the dress rehearsal and these will also be made available to families.
The performance will finish by approx. 8.15 pm.
Following the performance, families can collect the students from the stage area. They will need to be signed out by their teacher before leaving. The students will be able to wear their costumes home. Please return costumes that have been provided by the school, before the end of term.
The students and staff are looking forward to presenting the show to families.
Please reach out if you have any questions.
Thank you.
Anne.
