News from PE- Ms. Laura Hicks.

We have many excited students as this term students will participate in scooter sessions (F-2) and Bike Ed (3-6) during PE sessions. I have had students asking all year for our bike and scooter sessions and they are finally coming.

Bike Ed (Grades 3-6)

During weeks 6, 7, 8 and 9 students in grades 3-6 will need to bring their bike and helmet to school on their PE day. Students will develop their riding skills and learn about bike safety and road rules during these sessions. Students will complete the sessions during their normal PE time on the tiger turf and basketball courts (no leaving the school grounds just yet). We do have some school bikes and helmets that students can use/share for those students who need to borrow one.

Scooter Sessions (Grades F-2)

Students in F-2 will complete scooter sessions. During weeks 6, 7, 8 and 9 students in grades F-2 will need to bring their helmet, clearly named, to school on their PE day. Students will participate in scooter sessions where they will develop their balance and coordination skills as well as scooter safety. We have school scooters that students can use for these sessions however we do need students to bring a helmet if they can. We do have a small number of school helmets students can use if needed.

Bike Storage

We have a very limited space in our bike shed to store bikes. I ask that students bring their bikes straight to the basketball courts on the day they have PE and collect them at the end of the day. We simply don't have enough storage space to store all bikes in the bike shed.

PE Days

Tuesdays - 5/6K, 5/6J, 2/3B, 4K

Wednesdays- 3/4MB, 5/6C, FQ, 1/2J, 1/2S

Please remember, all permission notes and information for any PE events will be on Sentral. Please make sure you are checking regularly so your child has permission to attend events.
