Welcome to the last week of 2025!

As we come to the end of yet another wonderful school year, I am proud to reflect on the wonderful achievements of each student at our school. I'd also like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our staff who go above and beyond to make such a special and personalised celebration, such as our Presentation Day event, possible. It takes months to create and pull together the many moving parts which lead up to days like presentation day, our major excursions, and every other offering we provide at Rocky River. This work is driven from the love for our students. Thank you to our wonderful staff for this week, and every week this year, which was dedicated to making endless enriching experiences and opportunities possible for our students.

Presentation Day 2025

Congratulations to all of our students on a successful year of learning and achieving new personal bests. It was an honour to recognise the talents of our Rocky River learners in our Presentation Day assembly. Congratulations to our Year 6 students who graduated, our incoming 2026 School Captains and our Kindergarten students who finished their first ever year of schooling with pride. Thank you to the P&C and our fantastic local sponsors that made our award ceremony possible. A special thank you to Mr Hunt for welcoming us into Uralla Central School for our special celebration. It was a delight to also have the Uralla Central School band welcome us in with their musical pieces.

Yesterday, student Semester 2, 2025 reports were published on the SchoolBytes parent portal. It was a pleasure to write final reports for our students this academic year, and we hope you will join us in celebrating your child's strengths and growth reported for the semester. Please contact the school office if you were unable to access your child's report on the School Bytes platform.

Year 6 Dinner

Miss Miller and I were honoured to attend the Year 6 dinner last week. It was a lovely way to gather and celebrate the end of an era for this lively bunch! We wish our Year 6 students all the best on their high school endeavors. This year we farewell the Cain, Peterson, McDonald and Tobler families from our school community, but look forward to hearing all about the wonderful things our alumni-to-be achieve in their exciting journey ahead!

Anne and I have worked hard over the past month to complete the mandatory website upgrade for all NSW Public Schools. We welcome you to visit our new website and endeavor to keep the new front facing pace updated and inviting for community connection to our school.

Swim School Rewards Program

All of our students will be given a Swim Reward card to take home today.  This card can be stamped on the back each time your child enters both the Uralla and Armidale Council pools. Once the card is full, this will entitle them to a rewards day at the Uralla Swimming Pool in Term 1 next year.

This initiative allows a discounted entry fee to the Monckton Aquatic Centre in Armidale and while the card doesn't include a discounted entry fee into the Uralla Swimming Pool you can still get it stamped there on entry! We encourage our avid swimmers to enjoy our wonderful local pool over the Summer holidays.

This initiative has been set up to encourage more children to swim and enjoy all our local swimming pools have to offer.

Tomorrow is our School Swim party in celebration of the last day of school for 2025! Your child is welcome to dress in Christmas-themed mufti gear for tomorrow, arriving at school by 9am as usual. We will have some Christmas festivities in the morning, and head over the the pool at 12pm for the remainder of the day. This is a great chance for your child to get their first stamp on their swim rewards card!
