It was wonderful to showcase the learning and growth of our students last week with our open classrooms and Celebration of Learning assemblies. With only two days to go of the school year, this week includes the SRC Sports Day, staff vs students soccer match, Year 6 formal dinner, distribution of academic reports and guard of honour for our graduating students.

Special congratulations go to the teachers for their glorious 2-1 win against the students today!

Liz our crossing lady

For 30 years, Liz Morley has ensured the safety of Ben Venue students crossing Erskine St. This Friday will be her final day before retirement. We wish Liz all the very best for the future and thank her for her long years of service to the students of Ben Venue.

Staff finishing this week

We also wish the very best to Sally Macdougall in her retirement, Tara Burey on her appointment to Sandon PS, Ben Laurie on his paternity leave and Richard Cotter as he takes on a role at Drummond Memorial PS. Thank you each of these staff members for their contribution to Ben Venue.

Academic Reports

Student reports will be available in the School Bytes app from Thursday this week.

Happy holidays

As the final few days of the 2025 school year wrap up, all the staff at Ben Venue wish our students and their families a safe and enjoyable holiday period. In particular, we wish our graduating Year 6 students all the very best as they take their exciting next steps into high school (see the Stage 3 section of this newsletter for a tribute to our students).

Finally, I would like to personally thank our parents and families for your ongoing support our staff, students and school. Together, we create and maintain a truly special environment at Ben Venue Public School - one build on inclusivity, kindness, empowerment of students, connection, support, and high expectations. Our strength lies in our shared belief in our capacity to support the growth and development of our young people, and our shared commitment to learning, wellbeing, and the sense of community that connects us all. I am incredibly proud of our students and staff and the way they strive each day to make a positive difference - both in driving their own learning and in supporting those around them. As we head into the holiday break, I wish every family a safe, restful, and happy time together. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for new year together.
