Year 3/4's share their learning...

In Wellbeing, the Year 3/4 community has been learning about their right to feel safe as part of the Child Safety Curriculum and in the lead-up to Day for Daniel.

Students have explored what safe and unsafe situations can look, sound and feel like, including recognising the body cues that can let us know when something doesn’t feel right. Below is a snapshot of what students have shared during our class discussion.

They have also been learning the important steps of seeking help, including identifying trusted adults they can turn to for help, and practising how to speak up when they feel worried or unsafe.

We have also introduced Kids Helpline (1800 55 1800) as an additional source of support. These important conversations will continue over the coming weeks as students build their confidence in recognising unsafe situations and seeking help.

Day for Daniel - Friday 30 October

Child safety is everyone’s responsibility, and at Corpus Christi School, we are committed to creating a safe environment where every child feels protected, valued and heard. On Friday 30 October, we will acknowledge Day for Daniel, promoting awareness of child safety and remembering Daniel Morcombe.

Children are encouraged to wear a splash of red on the day as a sign of remembrance and to reinforce the important message that keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility.

The Daniel Morcombe Foundation also provides valuable resources for parents and families to support conversations about child safety at home. Further details will be shared over the next week. Teachers will also post reminders on Class Dojo, so please keep an eye out for updates from your child’s class teacher.

Positive Behaviour for Learning

The weekly PBL rule is drawn from our Behaviour Matrix. Each week our children focus on a whole school rule that meets our five school expectations.

                 This week’s PBL focus is:

             EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME

We are learning to keep hands, feet and objects to ourselves.
