Footsteps Dance Program

This term, our students are participating in the Footsteps Dance program. Each Friday, students from all year levels take part in dance lessons, learning new moves, developing coordination and building confidence through movement. Students will learn a range of dances, with each year level preparing two routines to perform at our whole-school concert at the end of the term.

Dance provides valuable opportunities for students to develop coordination, balance, rhythm and body awareness, while also building confidence, creativity and self-expression. Learning and performing routines encourage students to listen carefully, follow instructions, work collaboratively and persevere as they develop new skills.

Dance is also an important part of the Victorian Curriculum, where students explore movement, develop their performance skills and learn to communicate ideas and feelings through the Arts. The Footsteps program provides a practical and engaging way for students to develop these skills while enjoying the physical, creative and social benefits of dance.

The program will culminate in a whole-school dance concert at the end of the term, where each year level will perform two of the dances they have learnt. This will be a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their progress and share their achievements with our school community.

We look forward to celebrating their hard work and seeing our students take to the stage!

Decodable Readers

Can all Year Prep , Year 1 and Year 2 families please look at home for any decodable readers that you may not have returned? Some of our sets in the classrooms for home reading are running low and we need them for all of our students. Thank you!
