Wellbeing

At SFS, our PBL (Positive Behaviours for Learning) school wide expectations are:
Respect, Responsibility and Kindness
We have a whole school social skills lesson where we explicitly teach an expected behaviour from our Behaviour Expectation matrix. This week we have focused on learning our Swimming routines so that the children know what is expected of them when going to and from the Swimming pool as well as during the swimming lesson. This fits in with RESPONSIBILITY, Be ready for Learning on our behaviour expectation matrix.
Here is one of our lucky raffle winners from the last week of Term 3 who has been demonstrating our school expected behaviours.
OCTOBER is MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
Mental Health Month is held in October each year, with World Mental Health Day taking place on 10 October.
This is an important moment to raise awareness of mental health, reduce stigma and encourage people to seek support when they need it.
It’s also an opportunity to pause, check in with ourselves and those around us, and reflect on how we can look after our own mental health and wellbeing.
Mental Health Australia, the national peak body for the mental health sector, coordinates the national Mental Health Month campaign. This year’s theme is Together We Thrive.
Whether at home, at work, at school, in the community or online, this Mental Health Month we're encouraging everyone to start conversations, share their stories and strengthen the connections that help us thrive.
Check out this calendar for October with some ideas children and their families can do each day to support your families mental health.

If there are any parents who missed the opportunity to come and speak to me about their child and any wellbeing concerns, I am happy to make a time to speak with you to see how we can support your child at school. I can be contacted at the school or via email rlenko@sfslynbrook.catholic.edu.au
Wishing everyone a fantastic term 4!
