Geographical Planning for Sustainable Futures

This program immerses students in Indigenous mapping over ten weeks by blending traditional land stewardship—such as storytelling, fire management, and oral mapping—with modern geospatial practices like GIS, satellite imagery, aerial photography, and participatory mapping. It emphasizes Indigenous data sovereignty, ethical co-design, and the integration of story-based knowledge with Western techniques for cultural preservation and environmental management.
