PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

NAPLAN results

Year 7 and 9 students and parents/guardians will shortly receive a copy of their NAPLAN results.  If you haven’t received these, contact the school.

The NAPLAN reporting show your child’s result in each of the five assessment area (Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation and Numeracy). The results are classified into one of 4 proficiency levels: Exceeding, Strong, Developing and Needs additional support.

Staff changes

We have a number of staff changes for term three.

  • Mr Andrew Ellery has been appointed to teach Science.  He joins us from Christian College but was a former Oberon High School teacher.
  • Mrs Arika Hussain has left Oberon High after being appointed to a position at Deakin University.  Mrs Eloise Stewart has been appointed to replace Mrs Hussain and will be teaching English/Psychology.  Eloise joins us having taught previously at Manor Lakes P-12 College.  Eloise will begin at Oberon High on Monday 11th August.

School Production

Cops ‘n’ Robbers is the 2025 School Production and is taking place on the following dates at the Belmont High School Theatre:

  • Friday 8th August 7.00pm
  • Saturday 9th August 1.00pm and 7.00pm
  • Sunday 10th August 1.00pm

It would be great to see the school community attend to support the students and staff who have put their time and effort into this production.

Planning for 2026

The school has begun its planning for the 2026 school year.  Over the upcoming weeks we will be asking students about their intentions for next year in terms of returning to school.  If you are aware that your son/daughter is not going to be returning to Oberon High in 2026 can you contact the school to let us know.

Roadworks

As part of the Barwon Heads Road Upgrade – Stage 2, there will be speed reductions and lane closures at times along Barwon Heads Road between Reserve Road, Charlemont and Lake Road, Armstrong Creek.

The school community find more information about our project on our website Stage 2 - Victoria’s Big Build.
