It was my absolute pleasure to accompany 25 students to the Armidale Diocesan Athletics Carnival held in Tamworth last Friday. Students competed in a variety of events including the 800m, 200m, 100m, relay events, high jump, long jump, shot put and discus. Throughout the day students achieved some impressive results with close finishes that were very competitive at a diocesan level.
A special congratulations to Ricky Hird who finished 2nd in high jump and discus, 3rd in shot put and has qualified to compete in the NSWCPS Athletics Championships to be held at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre, Homebush on Friday 13th October 2023. We are very proud of your efforts!
All students have had the opportunity to refine their skills in our Wednesday afternoon training sessions over the last month, facilitated by Kevin Taylor. We are so thankful for his expertise and support of all our students. Students presented Kevin with a thank you card with personalised messages reflecting on the new skills they had learnt.
Congratulations to all students who competed, you represented your school with pride, outstanding sportsmanship and the mateship you showed to each other was impressive.
