A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Posi Schools

All classes started the Posi Schools program today. Your children would have come home with a pair of special socks so they can put their best foot forward every day! The messages on the socks this year are:

WOW  I am so grateful for ...             Who can I say thank you to?

Students are encouraged to wear these socks every Wednesday with their sports uniform.

Kindness Corner

Congratulations to Olive Dillon, the recipient of my Kindness Corner award for this week. Olive regularly helps the younger students pack up after playing with our new equipment in the library. Thank you Olive for being a wonderful role model and caring for our school resources responsibly.

Diocesan Athletics

Congratulations to all our students who competed in the Diocesan Athletics Carnival held in Tamworth last Friday. It was a cold and windy day however our students gave 100% effort in all events. Thanks to Mrs Bartholomew for supervising the students and organising the practice sessions for our students. The students were very proud they didn’t drop the baton in the relays! Thank you also to the parents who transported the students to the carnival and cheered the students on during the day.

Congratulations to Ricky Hird for being placed in three events High Jump, Shot Put & Discus. Ricky has been selected to represent the Armidale Diocese at the Polding Carnival in October.

City to Surf

Congratulations to Robyn Wilson and her daughter Jade who recently successfully completed the City to Surf race. This is a wonderful example for our students of working hard to achieve a goal. Well done!

REAL TALK Resources for Parents

Parenting doesn’t come with an instruction manual. If you want a quick reference guide for all the tough topics to do with relationships and the digital world, then Real Talk for Parents and Carers is for you. If you want expanded content that helps you form respectful young people who understand their dignity and worth, then Real Talk for Parents and Carers is for you.

We are fortunate that the Catholic Schools Office has paid for all our families to have access to this valuable site. To sign up for free go to: https://realtalkparents.com/armidale. The site includes quick reference guides, conversation starters, short videos, deep-dive seminars, printable resources, videos and curated links for parenting on the tough topics to do with relationships and eSafety. I encourage all our families to spend some time on this site.

School Survey

Each year the Catholic Schools Office distributes a survey to gather feedback from parents, students and teachers. The results are used to inform school improvement. I encourage all our community members to complete the survey which will be emailed to you this week.

Book Week Parade

Don't forget our Book Week Parade is on this Thursday 24th August at 9.15am. All parents are most welcome to attend.

Have a wonderful week.
