5/6 Melbourne Camp

I am happy to report that the Grade 5/6s had a wonderful experience at the Urban Camp In Melbourne last week.  All students’ displayed our values of 'Be Kind, Be Brave, Be Safe', as they participated in a range Melbourne experiences.  These included Ice skating, Eureaka Sky deck, IMAX, MSAC swimming, MCG tour and Sport. A huge thank you to Steve, Ned, Eliza, Miranda, Sarah, Jorja (student teacher) & Merryn (parent volunteer) who made this a lifelong memory for our students.

Reconciliation Week

On Wednesday Reconciliation week began.  This is when we commemorate the significant milestones in the reconciliation journey and encourage all Australians to be involved in the process. The theme for this year is "All in this together" -a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. Our First Australian Students and Term 1 Rochy Reps in grade 3 to 6 will be participating in the Reconciliation walk in Echuca on Friday.

Prep Enrolments

Prep enrolments for 2027 are being accepted. The Department of Education suggests schools encourage families to submit these by the end of this term. If you know of families interested in attending Rochester Primary School in 2027, please encourage them to contact the school.

Student Arrival time.

There have been an increasing number of students arriving at school quite early each morning. Please be advised that staff supervision begins at 8:40am and children are not supervised in the yard before this time. We ask that parents and carers ensure students are not left unsupervised by making use of the before school program if needed. Thank you for your help with this.

Student reports - Interviews

We will be providing student achievement reports for Semester 1 this year as usual.

The reports will be avaiable via XUNO on the 19th June.

The reports will continue to provide important details about student learning attainment, but full descriptive comments will not be included as a result of industrial action taken earlier this term by the Australian Education Union.

To compensate for no comments we have scheduled 2 parent teacher interviews opporunities -  Monday 22nd June 3:30-5:30pm and Friday 26th June 8:30-12:30pm. Please note students will not attend classes on the Friday (last day of term) but are expected to attend with their parents to the interview. More information regarding booking will be available in the coming weeks.

Pupil Free Days in June

The King's birthday holiday is coming up on Monday 8th. Each year schools are granted  5 pupil free days by the Department. Our next Pupil free day is Tuesday 9th June. This is the day we have allocated to Assessment and Reporting, and Friday 26th June as mentioned above for interviews.

Parking Reminder

A friendly reminder to avoid parking or dropping off students in school gate ways as these need to be kept clear for emergencies, urgent maintenance, safety reason and is also against the law. Thank you for your help with this.

Don't forget we have our school beanies available from the office for $12. The school makes no profit on this.  If paying online please provide your child's surname to ensure the payment can be tracked.

Elmore Field Day - We need you!

Once again we will support the Elmore field Days as one of our major fundraisers and we have  a full allocation of shifts this year - so need twice as many volunteers. The Field Days are on the 6th, 7th & 8th of October. We have short & long shifts and even asked if any one person was available for all 3 days. Shifts could include - food production, food preparation, delivering, serving, cleaning, dish washing, or stationed in the main shed or food van. No experience required.  Please contact the office if you or a friend, grandparent or neighbour is able to help us out or go on our emergency list.
