Respectful Relationships

As part of the Wellbeing Curriculum implemented across Sandhurst Schools each fortnight we will share topics being covered in the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) program.

Preps

Grade Preps have been learning about what makes them different and unique and about diversity.

Grade 1 & Grade 2

Grade Ones and Twos have been learning about Stress Management.  They are learning strategies to help them when they are feeling anxious and have talked about self-control.  Their next lesson will teach different relaxation techniques and will focus on making new friends.  They will listen to a mindfulness session on ‘Smiling Minds.’

Grades 3/4

In Respectful Relationships, students will practise communication skills that enhance peer support and help-seeking, identify a range of help-seeking strategies to negotiate positive outcomes to problems, discuss the concept of peer support and identify situations where it is appropriate to adopt this role and describe and apply strategies that can be used in situations that make them feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

Grade 5 and Grades 6

In Respectful Relationships, the Grade 5s and 6s have been looking at ‘help seeking’ and identifying times when we need to seek help during problems, and who to turn to.
