Holiday Break and Term 3 Commencement

A reminder to families that Monday 27 July (Week 1 of Term 3) is a scheduled Staff Day. There will be no classes for students from Kindergarten to Year 12, and families will need to make alternative arrangements for students. Term 3 will commence on Tuesday 28 July.

To support staff wellbeing and provide our team with a well-earned opportunity to rest and recharge during the term break, Main Reception will be closed to visitors from Monday 13 July to Friday 17 July.

The School will remain fully operational during this time, with staff on site and contractors undertaking planned works. A number of our leadership group will take some leave during this break time, so please do not expect an immediate response to correspondence. Urgent matters can be directed to principal@friends.tas.edu.au. We look forward to welcoming families, guests and visitors back to Main Reception from Monday 20 July.

Next Term, students in Years 8 and 9 will be making their subject choices for 2027. As part of this process, there will be a Subject Selection evening held in The Farrall Centre from 7.00pm on Wednesday 5 August

This will provide an overview of core subjects and the Year 9 Program and will provide an opportunity for current Year 9 students to speak with subject teachers about electives. On 6 August, students and parents will be emailed details on how to choose their subjects via Web Preferences, and will also receive a link to the Years 9 and 10 Coursebook. Subject choices will be due on Monday 17 August.
