Grade 3/4/5

Welcome Back to Term 3!

It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back to school. We are settling back into our classroom routines and have had a fantastic start to the term.

In English, we have begun reading our new class novel, The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. Students have been making predictions, discussing the story, and wondering who created the Iron Man and why he is made of iron. In Writing, we have been learning about the four sentence types—statements, questions, commands, and exclamations—and practising how to use each one correctly.

In Mathematics, we have started our unit on Multiplication and Division. Students have been introduced to bar models and are learning how to use them to solve worded problems by identifying the important information and choosing an appropriate strategy.

We look forward to continuing to build on these skills and extending our learning as the term progresses.
