Principal's Message

Welcome back to term three!
How are we already over halfway through our school year?
NAPLAN results have been provided to the school with some students showing great growth. If your child has participated in these this year, please check their bags for the sealed envelopes. If you have any questions on student results, please contact classroom teachers or the admin team to schedule an appropriate time.
Driveway use is now open again for families. As we now have the driveway fenced, families and general public are now able to use the driveway again. We would ask that families still refrain from using the back gated entry at drop off and collection times. There is grass seed down and the pathways have been cleaned, however any rain will end up making the grounds muddy until the grass coverage grows. Please use the front gate entry where possible. The gateways will also be locked until 8:30 in the mornings. This is to comply with our yard duty supervision. Please initiate drop off from 8:30 onwards. If you find that you are running late with morning drop off, after the morning bell, you will need to drop off your child at the office and sign them in.
Swimming weeks are approaching rapidly, if your child requires modification to swimming or additional supports, please make contact with your classroom teachers. Permission forms will be distributed shortly. Swimming weeks will be held in week six and seven. Junior classes will be in the first week, with senior groups in week two. We are currently finalising swimming group numbers and will provide families with more information as soon as possible.
In exciting news, our playground equipment has arrived. This will be installed next week. Students will be able to access the playground very soon. We are all very excited to see it installed and played on.
Student Support Group meetings will be scheduled in the coming weeks. If you and your child participate in an SSG, you will be contacted with shortly to schedule these in. This is a fantastic time to work with the classroom teacher on any supports your child may need.
We also welcomed our new teacher Helen this week. She has commenced working in the Prep/1/2 classroom and has been welcomed by our students beautifully. If she see her around the school, introduce yourself and make her feel welcome. We are incredibly lucky to have her in our George street community.
