AUTISM INCLUSION TEACHER

2026

Hello from the Autism Inclusion Teacher,

Autistic Pride Day is celebrated internationally on the 18th June and is a special opportunity to recognise the strengths, talents, and individuality of autistic people. This day reminds us that autism is a key part of a person’s identity, encouraging everyone to appreciate neurodiversity and to respect the unique ways autistic people see, experience, and contribute to the world.

Creating a world where everyone belongs starts with simple conversations. Here are a few easy ways you can chat about diversity and inclusion with your children this week:

  • Have a chat: Talk about what makes each member of your family unique. What are your different strengths?
  • Explore together: Read a book or watch a video that features neurodivergent characters (I have included a list of resources and a website).
  • Focus on kindness: Remind your child how wonderful it is that we don't all think, play, or see the world in exactly the same way.

I have included a website that includes more information on Autistic Pride Day.
