CELEBRATING OUR ULTIMATE COMMUNITY ROLE MODELS

UNDERSTANDING THE AWARDS PROCESS

At Hackham East Primary School, we are proud to promote and celebrate the values that shape our children into confident, caring, and respectful members of our community. Our Ultimate Community Role Model (UCRM) awards are a special part of this process-recognising those students who not only practise our school values but truly embody them, turning values into virtues in their everyday actions.

Each student has opportunities to demonstrate the values of persistence/resilience, courage, compassion, tolerance, good manners, and friendliness. These values are underpinned by our high behaviour expectations of:

  • We are respectful
  • We are inclusive
  • We are learners

Achieving this level doesn't happen overnight; it takes time, consistent effort, and genuine commitment.

The UCRM awards are awarded to those who consistently, over time, show these positive behaviours, not just occasionally, but as part of who they are. This means students must repeatedly demonstrate our values in a wide range of situations, both in and out of the classroom. Because this is so special, there are only six awards available to each student throughout their entire primary school journey.

We know how important recognition is for all children, and all students are regularly acknowledged for their efforts through our house points process. This ensures every child’s positive behaviour and contributions are visible and celebrated, fostering encouragement and a sense of belonging throughout their time at school.

However, the UCRM awards are intended for students who have thoroughly embedded our values, showing maturity and leadership beyond expectations for their age. This means not all students will necessarily receive all awards during their schooling. We encourage every child to work towards achieving these honours, but we also recognise that growth happens at different rates for everyone. Our teachers are dedicated to supporting and encouraging every student on their journey.

We understand some parents may feel disappointed if their child hasn’t received an award or wonder why their efforts haven’t yet been recognised in this way. Please be assured that every achievement is valued at Hackham East Primary School, and all students are acknowledged and supported as they grow. The UCRM awards are just one part of our broader approach to positive education.

If you have questions or wish to know more about our values or the awards process, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we can help our children become true role models within our community.

Kind regards,
