District Netball Competition Success

Our Grade 6 students recently competed in the District Netball Competition, with both our boys' and girls' teams putting in outstanding performances across the day. The students represented our school with pride, displaying excellent teamwork, sportsmanship and determination in every match.

The Grade 6 Boys Team competed in Division 2 and showed remarkable improvement throughout the competition. After a tough opening match against St Joseph’s (6-14), the boys responded brilliantly, defeating Big Hill 8-6 and St Killian’s 8-6. Their confidence and teamwork continued to grow as they recorded an impressive 12-4 victory over Quarry Hill, followed by convincing wins against Holy Rosary (9-2) and Victory Christian College (9-2). The boys worked exceptionally well together, continually refining their play and supporting one another throughout the day. Their strong finish saw them secure second place in their pool, a fantastic achievement.

Our Grade 6 Girls Team also enjoyed a highly successful day competing in Division 2 as well. They showcased great skill and resilience in a series of closely contested matches. The girls opened the competition with an exciting 14-12 victory over Specimen Hill before defeating Violet Street 7-2. Their only loss came in a thrilling contest against Campaspe, going down narrowly 12-14. The team bounced back strongly, defeating Big Hill 7-4 and finishing the day with a dominant 8-0 win over Eaglehawk. Throughout the competition, the girls demonstrated outstanding teamwork, determination and a willingness to support one another on and off the court.

Both teams should be incredibly proud of their efforts. They represented our school with enthusiasm, respect and excellent sportsmanship, while continually improving and growing in confidence as the day progressed. Congratulations to all players on a fantastic district netball competition!
