Principal's Report:

The first two weeks of term 3 saw a smooth transition back to school for staff and students, despite the disruption of a new principal. Staffing was planned with sufficient resources to cover absences, ensuring students continue to engage in structured and high-quality lessons.
It has been great to meet with students in the yard, in classes and introducing myself more formally in Home Groups. I can see students demonstrating the school values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility in the they way conduct themselves at school and the open and warm way they have greeted me.
NAPLAN results for 2026 have recently been added to a Department of Education data website: Panorama. The Panorama website shows comparisons between results at KTHS and ‘similar schools’, those with similar enrolments, remoteness and economic and cultural mix of families. Network schools are those in the Southern Mallee Area. Results in 2025 were significantly above similar schools and network schools on all measures. While results for the 2026 Year 9 cohort aren’t as strong, they still show the success of our academic program.
In the first week of term I emailed families, inviting parents and carers to join me for morning tea, to help me get to know the community. If any parents would like to ask me questions about myself or the school, and are willing to share your knowledge of the school and community, please let me know.
