School Production Update

Alice the Musical – School Production

Our whole school dress rehearsal this week was a wonderful success. The students looked fantastic in costume, and everything is coming together beautifully. A huge thank you to Ann Easton and her team of staff helpers for fitting and organising our Main Ensemble cast.

Performance Week – Important Information

Thursday 6 August – Daytime Rehearsal: Students will travel by bus to Robert Blackwood Hall, Monash University (Clayton) for their on-stage rehearsal. Please ensure you have returned the Permission Note via nForma ahead of this date. (Students who are not performing in the evening are encouraged to remain at home on Performance Day if possible. But if your child does need to attend school, please let their class teacher know so they can be included in the bus numbers.)

Bus Departure

9:00am: Prep, Year 2, Year 3 & Main Ensemble
10:45am: Year 1, Year 4 & Year 5/6

Return to School

1:30pm: Prep, Year 2 & Year 3
3:00pm: Year 1, Year 4 & Year 5/6

What to Wear

Students should arrive in their base costume. Additional costume pieces will be provided at the theatre.

Prep: Black top, black pants, black shoes
Year 1: White top, black pants, black shoes
Year 2: Green top, green pants, black shoes
Year 3: Black top, black pants, black shoes
Year 4: White top, black pants, black shoes
Year 5/6: Townsperson clothing, black shoes
Main Ensemble: As advised

Please note: Soft-soled shoes are required by the theatre to minimise noise on stage and protect the theatre floor.

What to Bring

Small bag
Water bottle
Snack and lunch

Please note: There will be no lunch orders on this day.

Evening Performance

Arrival Times

5:00pm: White Rabbit, Mouse, Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, King of Hearts, Mock Turtle, Gryphon, Fish & Frog Footmen, Cheshire Cat, Lory, Dodo, Duchess, March Hare, Dormouse, Caterpillar

5:00 - 5:30pm: Alice, Narrator, Cook, Tweedles, Rev Duckworth, Knave, Cards Two, Five & Seven, Court Jesters & Soldiers

6:00pm: All other Main Ensemble cast

6:30pm: All remaining students

Hair

Main Ensemble: Hair completely off the face for microphone fitting.
All other students: Hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back.

Performance

Auditorium opens: 6:30pm
Performance: 7:00pm
Approximate finish: 8:30pm

Students may bring a clearly labelled water bottle. No food is permitted in the auditorium.

Free parking is available in many Monash University parking areas after 4:00pm, and in other areas after 5:00pm. Please check parking signs carefully.

Collection

After the performance, students will return costume accessories before being dismissed from the foyer. Please listen for collection instructions and sign your child out with their class teacher before leaving.

Photography

Photography and video recording are not permitted during the performance. The show will be professionally filmed, with purchasing details provided separately.

Friday 7 August

Students may arrive at school either:

Normal start time or
11:00am if they would benefit from some extra rest after the performance.

Please arrive at one of these two times only to minimise disruption to classes and the school office.
