Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

The wait is finally over! Tonight, our talented students take the stage for Alice the Musical at Robert Blackwood Hall, Monash University. Following a fantastic whole-school dress rehearsal this week, the costumes look incredible, the energy is electric, and everything has come together beautifully.

A massive thank you to Susan Williams, our Performing Arts Teacher and Community Leader, for her incredible leadership and vision in bringing this production to life! We also extend a huge thank you to Jen Brown, our Art Teacher, for her amazing creative contributions, and to Ann Easton and her dedicated team of helpers for fitting and organizing our Main Ensemble cast.

We can’t wait to share this special evening with you. Thank you for your wonderful support—let's celebrate our students' hard work together!

Sex Ed

This term St. Patrick's School will once again be providing families opportunities to access Sex Education sessions.

Our presenter and facilitator is Mrs. Sue Pain who has worked extensively at St. Patrick's School over the past few years.

The online Family Sex Ed sessions will be offered on:

Tuesday 11th August

Year 3 & 4 Families - 6pm - 7pm

Year 5 & 6 Families - 7:15pm - 8:15pm

The online booking link will be sent out via nForma on Monday 10th August. (Same link for both meetings)  All students must have an adult in attendance with them at all times.

Please note that we will not be providing Protective Behaviour sessions for this year as Sue does not offer them any more.  I am investigating a new provider for the 2027 school year that will be School Advisory Council (SAC) approved.

School Closure Day for Term 3

Please note that Monday 17th August is a school closure Day for Staff Professional development.  We will be working with Glen Pearsall focusing on feedback strategies and learning walks.  MACSEYE will offer a full day child care program on this day, onsite.

Supporting our staff while planning for the future

Currently, all Catholic schools are working through planning and budgeting activities for 2027 to ensure we are well placed to support our staff, students and school communities in the coming year. This includes looking at how we can accommodate the changes likely to flow from a new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) with school staff.

We recognise the significant financial pressures many households are facing, and we are making a conscious effort to ensure these costs are not passed on through significant fee increases.

We will continue to keep our parent community informed throughout this process. As always, our focus remains on maintaining strong school communities and continuing to deliver a high-quality Catholic education for every student
