Message from the
School Principal
Dear Sacred Heart families,
As we come to the end of Term 3, it is the perfect opportunity to pause and reflect on the learning, growth and many achievements of our students across the term.
At Sacred Heart, we believe that, whilst academic achievement is very important, learning is about so much more than this. It is about developing curious, confident and capable young people who are willing to take on challenges, learn from mistakes and continue to grow. Throughout this term, I have been incredibly proud to see our students demonstrating persistence, curiosity and a genuine commitment to their learning. Every single child has continued to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding, while also growing in confidence and independence. A huge shoutout to all of our Sacred Heart students for being so awesome!
This is at the heart of our Living Purpose, Vision and Mission at Sacred Heart. We seek to develop the whole child and to create a learning community where every student is known, valued and supported to grow.
This term has also provided many opportunities for us to strengthen the important partnership between school and families. Events such as our recent learning showcases, school assemblies throughout the term, excursions where parents have helped out, our Father's Day Breakfast and today's Footy Day (Go Bombers!) are all great examples of how we have worked together to create a great school experience for our children. These occasions are also an important reminder that education is a shared endeavour. Our Living Purpose calls us to build meaningful and authentic relationships with students, teachers, parents and the wider community, and we have seen this lived out in many ways throughout the term. When families and teachers work together, communicate openly and celebrate the achievements of our children, we create a strong sense of belonging and a community in which every child can flourish. I am grateful to our families for the many ways you have supported your children and our school throughout the term. Thank you!
I would also like to acknowledge the commitment and dedication of our staff. The care, expertise and sense of humour (which is important too!) they bring to their work each day also contributes to making Sacred Heart such a special place.
I wish all our families a safe and restful holiday break. I hope the holidays provide an opportunity to slow down, spend time together and enjoy the simple moments that are so important to family life.
I look forward to welcoming everyone back for a wonderful Term 4.

Have Your Say in Your Child's School - MACSSIS Surveys closes today!
In 2026, our school is participating in Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS). MACSSIS is an annual process whereby schools listen to the thoughts and feelings that students, families and staff have about how their school can improve. These surveys help inform the ongoing improvement of schools across the Archdiocese of Melbourne.
One of the main goals of the family survey is to identify the strengths and areas for improvement in our school. MACSSIS data benefits everyone within our school and provides valuable community insights on areas that each school can focus on. Our school believes it is important to encourage families to have a voice and contribute to shaping the ongoing improvement of the school.
The survey is available online, can be accessed from Monday 31 August and needs to be completed by Friday 18 September 2026. This survey may only be completed once.
For families with more than one child attending our school, we ask that you focus on the eldest child attending the school when completing the survey. The school has invited many families to respond via this survey and participation is completely voluntary. There are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answers – all responses are completely anonymous and at no point are any of the responses from students, families or staff identifiable by the school.
The survey is available in English, Arabic, Assyrian, simplified and traditional Chinese, Dinka, Hakha Chin, Karen, Tagalog, Vietnamese and Zomi.

In the search box under School Name, you must type our school’s name followed by the suburb before the portal will recognise and display the relevant school. Your family’s personal identification number (PIN) for completing the survey has been emailed to you separately.
