Thursday 17th September

Thursday 17th September

The College has received confirmation that some staff will take protected industrial action from 12.05pm on Thursday 17 September. To allow us to plan safely for the afternoon, students will be dismissed at 12.00pm that day.

Supervision until 3.25pm

We understand that early collection, or students returning home during the day, will not be possible for every family. To support these families, student supervision will be available at the College until the usual dismissal time of 3.25pm.

Families who require supervision for their children must complete the following form by 5.00pm Wednesday 16 September. This allows us to plan for appropriate spaces and staffing ratios.

If your child will remain home

Families may choose to keep their child home for the full day. Please record the absence through the usual process in Compass.

Bus Transportation

With sincere gratitude to Moonee Valley Bus Lines, we will be able to run all the usual buses, departing the College from 12.15pm onwards.

  • Intercampus buses (for those needing to catch a bus home from a different campus) will depart at 12.15 pm.

  • Other chartered bus services will depart at 12.30pm.

  • Truganina bus services will depart at 1.15pm. Students travelling on a Truganina service will wait in their respective campus library until their bus is due to depart.

Students attending the afternoon supervised program must remain at their usual campus. The intercampus bus cannot be used to transfer students to supervision at the other campus.

Campus Arrangements

With Periods 4, 5 and 6 unable to proceed on Thursday, we are protecting as much classroom time as possible earlier in the week and on Thursday morning.

Canowindra Campus

  • Prep - Year 2 students will be supervised in the P-2 Building.

  • Years 3-4 students will be supervised in the Multi-Purpose Hall.

  • Note that the School Alive Tour scheduled at Canowindra Campus on Wednesday has been cancelled, allowing that time to be returned to learning.

  • For Year 9 students, a supervised space in the Year 9 Centre will be available until 3.25pm.

Yirramboi Campus

  • The Senior School and Middle School Libraries will both remain open, supervised by staff, so that private study can continue for students from Period 4 onwards.

  • The early dismissal does not impact Year 5, who are on camp on this day. The camp program will not be impacted by the industrial action.

  • The Canteen and Richardson Café will close at 12.00pm. Students remaining at the College for supervision should bring enough food and snacks for the afternoon. They will be given supervised break times.
