Health & PE

This week in Health and PE we explored more ways to keep ourselves healthy including adequate sleep and rest, which allows our body time to recover from being active, aids growth and gives us energy, as well as being hygienic which removes germs, prevents illness and keeps our body clean. Over the next few sessions, we will explore more ways to contribute to good health including sun safety and movement safety. We will also explore the body’s response to physical activity which is a great correlation to our studies of the human body in science class!
During our Physical Activity sessions, students in Grade 2-6 continued engaging in netball focused skills, including passing, catching, pivoting and shooting along with team work. It was wonderful to observe students confidently applying their developing skills into a game situation this week!
Grade 2/3/4 students have also been enjoying playing some fun tabloid sports games!
Next week we are excited to be commencing our AFL skills focus with a clinic run by AFL Victoria.
Students in Grade F/1 have continued to focus well on building their fundamental motor skills of throwing, catching, running, jumping and dodging through a range of skill drills, activities and games. We are enjoying learning lots of new tabloid sports games in preparation for our District Tabloid Sports Day next term. We will continue this focus over the next few weeks.
All grades will finish the term with a fun end of term games session. Well done to each grade for reaching 5 stickers on their chart, resulting in this end of term reward!
