From the  Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

As Term 1 draws to a close we are thankful for what has been such a busy and productive term.

There is no doubt in my mind that the students of St Bede's Primary are blessed to be growing up amongst such a caring and involved community.

There has been so much going on for our students this term. All of these events either facilitated by their teachers or the parents of our school. I hope our students are aware of how much our community cares and caters for them and in return they show gratitude for these blessings.

Athletics Carnival

Yesterday we seemed to luckily claim the most beautiful Melbourne day for our 2025 Athletics Carnival!

Whilst Mr Price will go into more technical detail about team and individual results and who makes it through to the next level of competition (district), I would like to acknowledge the good spirit in which the events were performed and the positive comments the teachers received from parents about the sportsmanship and peer encouragement on display -it was most commendable!

Our House captains started the day off well leading their teams through some inspiring cheers and our Preppies running in their first 100 metre dash finished the day on a delightful note.

Easter Colouring Competition

Congratulations to Kareena C (Winner) and Ethan A (Runner Up) who won the 2025 Easter Colouring Competition hosted by our Local MP Jess Wilson!

Basketball Courts Update

This week Jake and his team from Show Court Surfaces have been working hard on our basketball court resurfacing much to the children's delight! We can't wait to see the finished product when school resumes in Term 2! Thankyou to our Parents Association for funding this project.

PREP Enrolments - the time to enrol is now!

Prep enrolments are now open for 2026 and we have had a number of new families touring the school again this week. Parents of potential 2026 enrolments (whether that is for Prep or another year level) are welcome to call the office on 8851 4651 anytime to arrange a tour and pick up an enrolment pack.

If you know of someone who is yet to enrol their child please encourage them to do so ASAP. By the end of this term we will be in the planning stages and ready to send out formal invitations for Prep Interviews.

Easter Re-enactments

TOMORROW morning at 9.15am our Year 5 and 6 students will be performing a series of small re-enactments of the Easter Story. These are a beautiful, quiet and reflective way for our students to remember the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Parents are very welcome to attend and are asked to meet in the Jarrow Room at 9.15am on Friday 4th April (last day of term) for a prompt start.

With many thanks to all our parents for your amazing support this term. It is a privilege to work together with you on your child's education journey. Wishing you and your families a blessed Easter season and restful school holidays.

Kindest regards,

Amanda
