Turn everyday moments into a fun maths challenge! Ask your child to look for numbers around the home, at the shops or while travelling. 

Spot it 

• Find numbers on clocks, letterboxes, signs, calendars or food packaging.  
• Ask your child to read each number aloud.  

Think about it 

• What number comes before and after it?  
• Is the number odd or even?  
• Can you make the number in a different way?  
• What is 10 more or 10 less?  

Challenge 

Choose a target number and see how many different ways your family can make it using addition, subtraction, multiplication or division. 

Number Detective! 

Pick a mystery number and provide clues such as: “My number is greater than 20, less than 30 and is even.” Can your child solve the mystery? Then swap roles and let them create the clues!
