As always, congratulations to these students. We hope you enjoy your new books and continue borrowing regularly from our library collection.

For everyone else—remember, you have to be in it to win it! Borrow books for three consecutive weeks during your weekly library session to earn a ticket into our Library Awards entry box. Winners are drawn at random and announced each Wednesday lunchtime.

Colouring Competition

In the leadup to Book Week a colouring competition has been run reflecting the Book Week theme of Symphony of Stories.

Entries are due at school by today and winners will be announced next week at our school assembly where they will receive their prizes.

If your child hasn’t yet submitted their entry, first thing on Monday morning won’t be too late as our Student Representative Council, who are judging the entries, will not be undertaking this task until lunchtime.

Winning entries will be available for viewing in the entranceway of the library.

Book Week

Yes—it’s finally here! Symphony of Stories — CBCA Book Week 2026 is about to begin!

Please see below for our planned whole-school activities. Many year levels will also be completing additional Book Week activities throughout the week, so keep an eye on your year level Sentral updates for further details.

Book Week Parade

Our Book Week Parade is always one of the highlights of the school year!

The parade will take place on Wednesday 26 August in the gym, commencing at 9:15 am and concluding at approximately 10:00 am.

Families are warmly invited to attend and enjoy the wonderful creativity on display.

We can't wait to see the imaginative costumes our students—and their talented caregivers—have created!

Book Club

Scholastic Book Club Issue 6 brochures have been sent home with students today.

Orders close on Friday 4 September to ensure delivery before the end of term.

Book Fair

As part of our Book Week celebrations, our annual Scholastic Book Fair also arrives next week!

The Book Fair will be open before and after school from Thursday 27 August, with sales concluding after school on Tuesday 1 September.

Students will visit the Book Fair during their regular library session and will have the opportunity to complete a Wish List of their favourite books. Families are encouraged to pop in and browse—we've been assured this year's selection will be quite different from the books featured in the twice-termly Scholastic Book Club catalogues.

Victorian Premiers Reading Challenge:

The Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge finishes next week! All our students are registered and this coming week is the last opportunity to ensure all online reading records are up to date. We encourage all students participating in the Challenge to log their reading as soon as possible to ensure their efforts are recognised before the Challenge closes.

To successfully complete the Challenge, students are required to read:

  • Prep to Year 2: 30 books (including 20 Challenge books and 10 choice books)
  • Years 3 to 10: 15 books (including 10 Challenge books and 5 choice books)

If you have any questions about the Challenge, require assistance accessing your child's online reading record, or need help with login details, please contact Tracey Johansen (Grade 1), who will be happy to assist.
