Middle Sub School Leader Rooms 10-18

Dear parents and carers,

This week, our students participated in the RACV Safety Squad incursion, learning important road and pedestrian safety skills through a range of engaging, hands-on activities. Students learned how and when to cross the road safely and participated in interactive games where they identified safe and unsafe pedestrian choices. They particularly enjoyed the road-alertness game, which encouraged them to remain focused and remember to stop, look, listen and cross only when it is safe. The students had lots of fun participating, sharing their ideas and demonstrating what they had learned.

Learning about road safety is essential for helping our students become safer and more independent when travelling through the community. Explicitly practising these skills supports students to recognise hazards, make safe decisions and understand their responsibilities as pedestrians. We encourage families to continue reinforcing these important messages during community outings by talking through safe places to cross, modelling alert behaviour and practising the stop, look and listen routine together.

ROOM 13

Room 13 has had a wonderful first half of the year! We have enjoyed a variety of engaging learning experiences, including Canine Comprehension with George, Cooking, Gardening, English and Maths activities, and Show and Tell, where students have practised speaking in front of their peers, sharing special items and experiences, and building their confidence and communication skills. We have also enjoyed the NAIDOC Celebration, the RACV Incursion, weekly visits to the Art Room and Library, Physical Education, Personal and Social Capabilities, Music, and Science.

These experiences have provided us with many opportunities to learn, grow, and have fun together as a class. We are proud of all that we have achieved and look forward to continuing our learning journey throughout the rest of the year.
