Principal's Views
As we reach the end of Week 6 of Term 3, it has been wonderful to see our students continuing to embrace opportunities to learn, connect and grow, with a strong focus on wellbeing, belonging and positive relationships across our school community.
Cashing in 'Caught Ya Cards' Reward
Last week, as part of our 'Caught Ya Cards' rewards system, Nimervir of 2ST chose to use her rewards to become “Principal for a Session”! She had the wonderful opportunity to step into the Principal’s role, helping with our school Assembly and experiencing a little of what it is like to be part of the Leadership Team. It was fantastic to see her enthusiasm, confidence and willingness to get involved, and she certainly made the most of her special experience!
We look forward to seeing more students 'step up' to the Principal's role in the coming weeks.
On Monday 24th August our students will lead our Stand Up Project parent session.
The Year 5 student leaders will talk passionately about their plans to improve safety and inclusion at Epping Views Primary School, sharing their learning and helping to build awareness around positive relationships, inclusion and standing up for others. We look forward to welcoming our families and celebrating the leadership and voice of our students.

Bullying No Way Week
This week is the National Week of Action: Bullying No Way. As part of our ongoing focus on student wellbeing, belonging and positive relationships, we are proud to be participating in Bullying No Way Week, with this year’s theme, “Small Acts, Big Impact.” The theme encourages students to recognise bullying; build belonging and explore how small actions can make a difference. At EVPS, our school-wide focus will include bullying prevention, positive bystander behaviour, help-seeking and checking in with others. Through classroom learning, conversations and activities, students will be encouraged to consider how their words and actions can positively impact others and the important role they can play in creating a safe, inclusive and respectful school community. We will continue these important conversations and our focus on positive relationships and belonging throughout the coming weeks.
On Friday 11 September, we will also celebrate R U OK? Day at EVPS. This is a wonderful opportunity for our school community to pause, check in with one another and remind ourselves of the importance of connection and looking out for those around us. Through simple conversations and small acts of kindness, we can all make a difference.
Week 5 - Stand Up, Speak Up
Focus: Positive bystander and upstander behaviour.
Key Message: If you see someone being hurt, excluded or treated unfairly, you can take safe action and help.
Week 6 - It’s Okay to Ask for Help
Focus: Help-seeking, trusted adults and knowing what to do when a problem does not stop.
Key Message: Asking for help is a strong, responsible choice. You do not have to manage bullying or unsafe behaviour on your own.
Week 7 - Friends Check In
Focus: Connection, empathy, friendship and noticing when someone may need support.
Key Message: Good friends notice, listen and care. A small check-in can make someone feel supported and connected.
Week 8 - R U OK? Day
Thursday 10th September/School Event: Friday 11th September 2026
Focus: Checking in, listening and connecting with others.
Key Message: Ask, listen and encourage action when someone may be having a tough time. Checking in is something we can do any day.
Week 9 - Together We Make a Difference
Focus: Review, reflection and celebrating positive action.
Key Message: When we include others, speak up, seek help and check in, we help create a school where everyone belongs.
WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CARERS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!
Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Carer Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.
The Parent / Carer Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 21st August to Friday 18th September 2026.
All families are invited to participate in the survey. Please access the link via Compass newsfeed.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents / carers who speak a language other than English at home. Please reach out to your child’s teacher, or the school directly for survey guides in your language. Please speak to your child’s teacher or the front office if you would like more information.
Book Week
Next week, we are thrilled to celebrate Book Week! This year's theme is "Symphony of Stories". Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of literature and imagination. Don’t forget to prepare your costumes for the Character Parade — it’s going to be a highlight of the week on Friday! Students are invited to dress up as their favourite book character, or someone who fits this year’s theme, or carrying their beloved books!
Hats are Back!
A reminder that students require their school hat in line with our school Sun Protection Policy. Please support your child to have their hat every day and ensure it clearly labelled with their name. Students who are not wearing appropriate protective clothing or hats will be asked to use available areas of shade when outdoors or a suitable area protected from the sun.

Teeth on Wheels: Dental Appointments in November
We’re pleased to announce that Teeth on Wheels will be returning in Term 4 to complete additional dental appointments. We’re excited to offer opportunities for convenient dental care - more information to follow.
2027 Foundation (Prep) enrolment applications closed recently. All schools follow the statewide enrolment timeline. Families will be soon be provided with the enrolment confirmation letter. We are now beginning to plan classes for 2027 so if you are yet to put in your application or know anyone that hasn’t, please do this immediately so that our planning is accurate. Information about Prep transition sessions will be shared soon.
Are you moving on in 2027?
We are now well and truly in the planning phase for 2027 and as such it is important that we have an accurate indication of our student numbers for next year. If you are planning on relocating at the end of the year or leaving us for any other reasons, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can best support the transition of your child to another school setting.
