Oliver! What a Sensation! 

The three performances of Oliver! surpassed expectations! The production was extremely well received, with enthusiastic audiences applauding the quality of the cast, crew, music, choreography and acting. 

The performers are to be congratulated on their commitment and hard work throughout the rehearsal period. Their confidence, energy and enthusiasm shone on stage, bringing the production to life. 

The performance also provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone involved to work together as a team. From the performers and production team to those supporting backstage and behind the scenes, the success of Oliver! was the result of a great deal of cooperation, dedication and effort. Students described their peers as their “musical family”. 

Measures of success extended beyond the performances themselves, with the growth in confidence and ability demonstrated by the cast and crew, as well as the overwhelmingly positive response from audiences. 

Congratulations to everyone involved in making Oliver! such a wonderful success. 

Burritos at Junior School Book Week Assembly 

The Burrito Band made their first appearance at the Junior School Book Week Assembly last Friday. 

The Burrito Band is made up of Year 6 students who began learning their instruments this year. The Junior School students thoroughly enjoyed the three pieces performed, and the Band loved being part of such a special event. 

It was a wonderful opportunity for our young musicians to share their progress and perform for the Junior School community.  

Festival of Music – Concert 2 - Bands in Concert! 

Last night the College bands took to the Clocktower stage for the Bands in Concert performance. A full report will appear in Whispers next week. 

Victorian Schools Music Festival 

Gravity Band are to be congratulated on the outstanding “Gold” standard, awarded at their section of the VSMF. Similarly, the Symphonic Band achieved highly, with a “Silver” rating in the “Advanced Concert Band” section. This is the first time that the band had appeared in this section. 

The Festival Continues 

There is much to look forward to in the remainder of the term. On Monday, the community is warmly invited to hear the VCE Music students at a concert in the Assembly Hall at 7pm. No tickets are required. The College rock bands will be “gigging” at Out of the Blue on Wednesday, 2nd September (ticket information below). Then in week 8 the Choral Showcase and Season 2’s cast of Seussical will wrap up the Festival of Music.
