Camp Kangaroobie

On Wednesday 14th of October, the year five students of Torquay College went to Camp Kangaroobie for two nights. On the bus ride there, I sat next to Bonnie and we vibed, but that was nothing compared to when we got there.

As I stepped off the bus the first thing I saw was the astonishing view of the farm. Pigs, cows, sheep and a beautiful river running through the middle.

Soon it was time for our first two activities, a fun GPS tracking game with lots of obstacles. It was for sure one of my favourites. The second activity was Survivor. Wait, like the show Survivor? Yep. It was very fun but didn’t make my top two. The owner of the camp was named Matt, he was very funny!

“If there is a chance you can die, put mozzie repellent on.” He would say.

The second day I did...

-Canoeing

-Obstacle/mud course

-Farm activities

-A game called Life or Death.

They were all great but my all time favourite was the mud course! My partner was Liv and we got caked in mud! We kept slipping in it. It was like the mud was screaming “Fall into me!” I loved it!

I became as brave as a lion when I got electrocuted by the electric fence. The shock was crazy!

The day we went home was full of emotions, excited, sad, melancholy. But it was a delight to go home and sleep in my bed.

Camp was great, surely my best one yet! I can’t wait for next year.
