Sacrament of Confirmation
Congratulations to our Grade 6 students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation last week. This was a special event for you to receive the Holy Spirit and complete your Initiation into the Catholic faith. It was great to hear about your chosen Confirmation names and why you chose your namesake saints, and lovely to meet some of your chosen sponsors. We hope you all enjoyed any special celebrations you had after Mass too!
Sunday's Gospel
Gospel: Matthew 5:1–12a — The Beatitudes
This Sunday, 1 November 2026, the Catholic Church celebrates the Solemnity of All Saints. The Gospel is Matthew 5:1–12a, where Jesus teaches the Beatitudes.
Jesus teaches us what it means to live a holy life. He tells us that true happiness comes not from being rich, popular or powerful, but from showing love, kindness, mercy and compassion to others.
The Beatitudes remind us to:
- Be gentle and humble.
- Show kindness and forgiveness.
- Stand up for what is right.
- Make peace when there is conflict.
- Care for people who are sad, lonely or struggling.
- Try to live as Jesus taught us.
