Welcome!
Paul Bissinella, Acting Principal

Dear Parents, Carers and Families,
Isn’t it nice to see the sun out! The weekend felt like the first time in a long time that I had been outside with the sun shining! It was nice to catch up with those jobs in the garden that seem to drag on through winter and to finally dust the cobwebs off my bike and go for a ride! It will be nice to see some growth in the plants and gardens around the school this week and for the children to be outside enjoying the fresh air with the sun on their backs!
Our children have settled well into our final term, and with the swimming program to finish this Friday, all year levels are back into their learning routines!
Thank you to everyone for remembering hats; in the case where a child does not have his/her hat at recess times, the procedure of ‘No Hat, No Play’ will be enforced. A reminder that your child is welcome to wear either summer or winter uniform at present, as we transition into full summer uniform from Monday 19th October (Week 3).
With planning for the 2027 school year now gathering momentum, I would ask families that are aware that they will not be returning to St Peter’s next year, to promptly inform the school. Please email pbissinella@spbendigo.cathiolic.edu.au or contact the school office.
Morning Reading Program

Last week’s launch of our Morning Reading Program was a great success, with many students taking the opportunity to start their day with a book. It was wonderful to see students reading alongside parents, grandparents and other family members in such a positive and welcoming environment.
A strong start to the day can make a real difference, and Morning Reading provides students with extra time to practise their reading, build confidence and develop a love of books. Whether they are reading independently or sharing a story with an adult, every reading session counts.
We encourage all families to keep supporting this initiative and invite students to join us whenever they can. There is no registration required. Simply come along, choose a book from the Morning Reading trolley and enjoy some time reading before school begins.
When: 8.30am-8.50am
Where: Gathering Space
Who: All students welcome!
We look forward to seeing even more students enjoying Morning Reading in the weeks ahead.
Peter’s Pals Playgroup

We’re excited to officially welcome families to the first session of Peter’s Pals Playgroup this week. Peter’s Pals is a wonderful opportunity for children aged 0-5 years, along with their parents, grandparents and carers, to enjoy play, stories, songs and social interaction in a warm and welcoming environment.
The playgroup has been created to support early learning and development while helping families build connections within our school and local community. It has been wonderful to see interest from families, and we look forward to welcoming both new and returning participants throughout the term.
Sessions are held every Wednesday during Term 4 in the Djak Tjarra Learning Space. Whether you attend regularly or drop in when you can, you are warmly invited to join us for a fun and engaging morning.
When: Wednesdays during Term 4, 9:00am-10:00am
Where: Djak Tjarra Learning Space

Foundation 2027 Transition Program

This term we are excited to begin our Foundation 2027 Transition Program and welcome our future Foundation students and their families to the St Peter’s community.
The transition program provides children with the opportunity to become familiar with the school environment, participate in classroom activities, and begin building relationships with staff and other students. These sessions are designed to help children develop confidence and ensure they feel comfortable and ready for the exciting start of their school journey in 2027.
Throughout Term 4, our staff will also connect with local kindergartens and conduct Foundation readiness activities to help us better understand each child's strengths, interests and learning needs. This information allows us to thoughtfully prepare for a successful start to school.
Families are warmly invited to participate in the transition process and support their child as they gradually build independence throughout the program. We look forward to sharing this special milestone with our newest students and their families.

Attendance Matters
Every day at school counts. Regular attendance helps students build strong learning habits, maintain friendships and stay connected to their classroom learning. Thank you to the many families who prioritise attendance each day. Together, we can ensure every student has the best opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
I hope you have a great week!
Kind regards,
