TRJ Homecoming

Home Truths for Our Year 9s

Our Year 9 students had their TRJ Homecoming evening on Monday, wrapping up a wonderful year of adventure, challenge, building community and growing character.

The evening began with each of the four TRJ groups separating for student presentations to their peers, teachers, parents and mentors, reflecting on the year and their personal progress.

Dinner was served in the quadrangle before the weather set in and everyone took shelter in the gym where, after final speeches, the tone shifted to laughter and dancing. There was live music and coordinated dancing, and it was great to see our students giving it a go, and having a whole lot of fun in the process!

In his Homecoming speech, TRJ coordinator Mr James McGeachy reminded the cohort of the truths they began the year with, and which undergird the program.

"You are home. May you always know where you belong—and help others belong too.
You are growing. May you keep seeking who God has made you to be, step by step, year by year.
You are enough. Not because you’ve proven it, but because Christ is enough—and His love is already yours."

“We all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
