Principal's Message

As we reach the end of another busy and rewarding term, I want to take a moment to thank our incredible school community for the support, kindness and generosity that continues to make our school such a special place.

One of the highlights of the term was our Family Bingo Night. It was wonderful to see so many families come together for an evening filled with fun, laughter and connection. Events like these remind us of the strength of our community and the important role that families play in making our school such a welcoming place for everyone. Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered and helped make the night such a success.

With this wonderful community spirit in mind, we would love to re-establish our Parents and Friends Association. A strong Parents and Friends group provides fantastic opportunities to build connections, support our students and contribute to school events throughout the year. If you would be interested in helping to lead or be part of a new Parents and Friends Association, I would love to hear from you.

We are also looking for volunteers to coordinate our Father's Day Stall later this term. If you enjoy organising events or would like to help create a special experience for our students, please get in touch. Even a small amount of time can make a big difference.

Speaking of community spirit, I would also like to sincerely thank the many parents and staff who generously gave up their time to help move sand for our playground. Your willingness to pitch in was greatly appreciated, and thanks to everyone's efforts, the Gaga Pit has now been beautifully resurfaced for our students to enjoy. Our Gaga Pit has quickly become one of the most popular spaces in the school! It has been fantastic to see so many students actively engaged in the game while demonstrating teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship. A special thank you to our student Play Leaders, who have done an outstanding job supporting younger students to learn the rules, include others and ensure everyone has a chance to participate.

I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our School Council for their tireless work over the past 12 months in reviewing and updating our Student Dress Code Policy. This important work began last year with a comprehensive tender process to ensure we secured the highest quality uniform supplier while also providing the best possible value for our families. Since then, School Council has dedicated many meetings to carefully reviewing the policy, considering feedback from both families and students, and ensuring the updated policy reflects the needs and expectations of our school community.

The revised Student Dress Code Policy is attached to this newsletter and will also be shared via Compass. I ask all families to please take the time to read the policy carefully and ensure that students return in full school uniform at the beginning of Term 3. Staff will also be revisiting the expectations with all students during the first week back to support a smooth and consistent implementation across the school. If you require financial support to purchase uniform items, please let the office know as there are supports available for families (information also in the newsletter). Thank you in advance for your support in helping us maintain a strong sense of pride and belonging through our school uniform.

As we head into the holiday break, I hope all of our students and families have the opportunity to rest, recharge and enjoy some quality time together. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for an exciting Term 3, which begins on Monday, 13 July.

Please take a moment to look through the Term 3 Calendar of Events, included in this newsletter and available on Compass, to keep up to date with all the exciting learning opportunities and community events ahead.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support throughout the term. Wishing you all a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday break. We can't wait to see everyone back in Term 3!

Warm regards,

Stephania Johnson-Turner
