Principal Post

Dear Families,
Thank you - Meet & Greet Meetings
Thank you all for your support of the Parent Teacher Meetings held last week. They went very well!! In the interests of your children it is vital the school home partnership remains strong with clear effective communication. The teachers reported that these meetings were a great launching pad into assisting your children and we hope that you also found them to be beneficial. Please continue to work closely with your child's teachers and admin and leadership staff.
Out of School Care Provider Term 2
As you are all aware MACSEYE will be taking over the provision of Before School and After School Care at St John Vianneys
beginning Term 2. Last evening at our School Council Meeting they presented giving us further information regarding the transition. Please note that we have been very happy with Camp Australia as our provider but MACS have determined that all OHSC in Catholic Schools will eventually be run by MACSEYE. Our school has been scheduled to transition in Term 2.
MACSEYE will provide the school with information regarding operating hours, fees, enrolment procedures. When we receive this information we will distribute. Please note that there is a MACSEYE contact number on both the bottom of the flyer and letter should you wish to have specific questions answered.
After School Pick-Up Reminder
Just a remind school finishes at 3:15pm, and parents and carers must ensure their child is collected on time. Students should not be waiting in the office unless prior arrangements have been made.
We understand that delays can occasionally happen. If you are running late, please contact the school office to let us know.
Camp Australia provides a supervised Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) program. We encourage families to consider this option if needed. https://campaustralia.com.au/
Important Safety Note
Office Doors
To ensure the safety of all students and staff, the school office doors will remain locked throughout the school day. Once school begins, parents will not be permitted to walk their child to class. If assistance is needed, a staff member will be available to help your child safely reach their classroom.
To avoid increased anxiety or disappointment, please arrive on time if you wish to walk your child to class before the start of the school day.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe learning environment for everyone.
Staffing Announcement
I trust that all families read the email sent this morning rearding my plans at the end of Term 2. I informed all students at school today. I will keep you informed of any information from MACS.
Grade 1/2 First Aid Incursion
This week our Grade 1/2 students had an exciting and informative visit from the St John Ambulance School Program.
Students were actively engaged as they learned about the importance of First Aid and what to do in an emergency. Through interactive games, storytime and action-plan scenarios, they developed an understanding of how to recognise an emergency, call 000, and the basic steps involved in CPR.
Our students showed great enthusiasm and confidence as they practised responding to different scenarios, demonstrating that even young children can play an important role in keeping themselves and others safe.
We thank St John Ambulance for empowering our students with practical knowledge and skills that could one day make a real difference.
Assembly Awards
David won an Empathy Award because he is always so polite and helpful. When we had 5/6 Captain photos he was the first to offer his jumper to lend someone who didn’t have one. His kindness does not go unnoticed.
Dominic won and Empathy Award because he is always helping and showing care for the members of his class and to his friends.
SJV Year 5/6 Gala Days
Our first Gala Day for our Year 5/6 students was held last Friday. The students represented themselves and our school extremely well. St John Vianney's did extremely well against the other school winning many of our games. We look forward to this weeks Gala Day.
Carpark
For safety it is vitally important that parents are patient, observant and vigilant at all times, aware of students toddlers and other adults as they use the carpark. Please collect your child from the gate.
We seem to have more families using the Parish Carpark with the overflow extending into the top playground. It can be congested and we thank you for your patience.
If there is the ability to use the back area of our school St Johns Way (Kiss and Drop/ Collect ) and surrounding streets this may assist. Please obey all signs.
Open Days at SJV
Yesterday we conducted our Open Day Tours for Prospective families. We have another Open Day tomorrow morning. Please tell kinder friends to see our school in Action. Spread the word!
