Captains Corner
Welcome to the Captain’s Corner, with Alyssia and Patrick!
Welcome to the first Term 4 Captain’s Corner! In these first two weeks of school, we have had 5 and 6s Cricket and the Art show!
On Thursday the 17th of October, we had the Art show! All grades have worked hard all year preparing their art show pieces and songs. Before it was time to perform, everyone had little picnics out in the yard. All of the students had time to play which was really fun. A bit later we had the performances in the hall! Each grade had their own song they were singing.
Both of the Prep classes performed ‘Inanay’ which was originally an Aboriginal lullaby sung to babies. The Year 1s and 2s sang ‘Home Among the Gum Trees’ which sounded amazing. The year 3s and 4s sang ‘Island Home’ and finally the Year 5s and 6s sang ‘Amazing’.
Then there was the auction for all the artworks that the classes had worked on. The art show was so fun and the best night of the year!
We’d like to say a big thank you to Mrs. Cummings for all of her work in putting the Art Show together, Mrs. Kellet for working with us on our songs, our teachers for helping us make our class pieces, and all the parents for coming along and supporting the Art Show.
