Rick Riodan’s Percy Jackson series have an enduring magical quality that have become a ‘modern classic’. Although the series has been around since 2005 the themes and characters are strong but also show their flaws. Percy Jackson is a demigod and the son of Poseidon, the Greek God of the Sea. He has special powers like controlling water as well as being a loyal friend and a brave hero. Rick Riordan takes exciting myths of ancient Greece and makes them relatable to the modern world.
