Harmony Day Assembly and Parade

At the end of last term, our students enjoyed the Harmony Day Assembly in their traditional clothes.  It was a wonderful day of inclusion with plenty of colour!

Adelaide Symphony Orchestra

Recently, members from the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra delighted our students with their Around the World Incursion concert!

The performance was narrated and together with the instrumentalists, the story of Jo-Jo the Bar-tailed Godwit and her amazing journey Around the World was shared with the audience. On her journey, Jo-Jo heard some of the most beautiful music in the world in countries from Korea to India to the Democratic Republic of Congo, to Spain and Norway (and many more).

Bar-tailed Godwits—known as BTGs in the story—are the superheroes of bird migration! The Australian and New Zealand BTG’s migration journey features the longest recorded non-stop flights of any bird. On their journey they follow the EAA flyway: the East Asian Australasian Flyway. Our local BTG’s start their journey in the Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary and travel across northern Australia and over Indonesia and the Philippines. They stop off in China, Korea or Taiwan on the way, then fly all the way to Alaska (or Siberia!) at the top of the world.
