Turn Up Awards
The "Turn Up" award was introduced last year to encourage our students to attend school every day. Each day your child attends their name will be entered into the draw to receive a paddle pop voucher. A voucher will be issued each week to each class. If your child attends 5 times in that week they have 5 entries. If they attend two days in that week they have 2 entries. Congratulations to our winners for Term 2, Week 11:
K/1B - James
2/3O - Jed
4/5/6T - Lexi

Turn Up Term Award
All students who had attended 90% and above in Term 2 were entered into the draw for the Turn Up Term Award. Our winner was Hailie. Hailie has won an exercise pack with a Bluetooth speaker, yoga mat, resistance bands and skipping rope. Congratulations!

Home Reading
Congratulations to Latrell for achieving 50 nights and Theo for achieving 100 nights of home reading. Home reading is encouraged at Werris Creek Public School. Just 10 minutes per night can make a difference. To encourage our students to read at home, we offer some great incentives. See the image below with our incentive program. If you would like some tips on encouraging your child to read, please see their classroom teacher.

Congratulations Piper
Congratulations to Piper for receiving two awards from the Southern Cross School of Distance Education's "High Potential Pathway Program". Piper is participating in the Mathematics High Potential Pathway Program, and her awards were for "Excellent Attendance at HPPP Online Lessons" and "Outstanding Progress and Excellent Participation in HPPP".

Premier's Spelling Bee Awards
Congratulations to Jed, Riley, Luke and Telmie who were awarded the Premier's Spelling Bee Awards 2026 for Werris Creek Public School.

Attendance Matters
Congratulations to the 6 students who are part of our 100% Club. These students have attended school 100% of the time in Term 2.

We have 38 Students in total attending 90% or above. Keep up the good work as attendance matters.
If your child is to be absent from school for any reason, please ensure you contact the school office to advise or reply to the SMS message that is sent on the day of absence. It is important that we notify the department the reason your child is not attending school.
Kind regards
Kathy Nott
