Week 11

What a wonderful, busy, hectic but rewarding term!  Our students and families are truly wonderful with the way they support our school and the opportunities it gives.  We have had many wonderful opportunities with sport, drama, dance, public speaking, creative thinking and STEM. 

Last week you will have received your child's reports.  We are so proud of everyone here at MGPS and the learning and wellbeing gains they show every day.  It was great to see some wonderful goal setting and reflection about their learning. 

This week we are excited to be visiting Thalgarrah to participate in cultural activities as part of our NAIDOC week celebrations.  Stage One has unfortunately been postponed due to pending weather until next term. A new note will come out with the new date.

Bandlink

Last Thursday and Friday, Ollie, Tommy, Olive and Aiden attended an HPGE opportunity at NECOM with the NSW Arts unit.  Students learnt all about being part of a band and were very creative in their performances.

Football and Rugby Union Trials

Congratulations to Evie, Nixon, and Oliver, who attended the NW Football trials last week in Tamworth. Nixon was selected for the next level in touch football—well done!

Also last week, Brodie, Nixon, Tom, Hannah, and Maddie represented the Armidale Zone Rugby Union team at the NW trials. 

Yesterday, Brodie, Nixon, and Tom participated in their rugby trials.

Congratulations to all of you on your fantastic efforts!

Athletics Carnival K-6 

What a wonderful day we had on Friday, even though our novelty events did not go ahead due to the weather.  Students dressed in their house colours and showed great sportsmanship and leadership at our K-6 Athletics day.  Magpies opened the day with a beautiful performance before our age races began.  Students loved being able to have fun with the running events and finishing off the day with watching and cheering on the Socceroos.  We will announce the House winners this week, but ribbons and medals will be handed out next term. 

WELLBEING- PAX VISIONS

Here are our last two PAX visions which our students created for different spaces in our school. This week it is the PAX vision for our Nature Area where we love to play and build and the Quad where we have our Morning Muster meetings on Monday mornings and play handball. 

We are on the count down to a well-earned break and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday 21st July for another busy, exciting term.
