Inclusive Employment Australia replaces Disability Employment Services

Inclusive Employment Australia replaced the Disability Employment Services program on 1 November 2025.

Inclusive Employment Australia is a new specialist disability employment program. It assists people with disability, injury or health condition to prepare for, find and maintain work and grow their career. Inclusive Employment Australia will help create a more inclusive future.

BHP Neuro-Diverse Internship Program

If you are neuro-diverse and interested in computing, consider the BHP Internship as a future opportunity. It is run through a partnership between Curtin and BHP.

Jamie Erak, the 2026 Rhodes Scholar went to Curtin, after leaving school to be home-schooled. He has autism which helped him to focus “I have very strong interests in certain subjects.”

Scholarships & Awards

Many organisations offer scholarships in a wide variety of categories such as students with disabilities, students in equity groups, students from overseas and students that have demonstrated academic achievement in a particular area of study.

There are four types of scholarships:

Support for Australian Apprentices with Disability

A range of assistance is available including tutorial, mentoring and interpreting services as well as the Disabled Australian Apprentice Wage Support (DAAWS) incentive, which is paid to employers.
